Public Park with the Support of International Maarif Schools of Kosova

On the occasion of International Earth Day (April 22), the Municipality of Prizren, in cooperation with International Maarif Schools of Kosova – Prizren Branch, organized an educational and environmental activity in the Dardania neighborhood, in the green area of “Rrustë Kabashi” Square.

As part of this initiative, graduating students of International Maarif Schools of Kosova donated and planted 50 decorative tree saplings, making a valuable contribution to expanding green spaces in the city of Prizren. In recognition of this meaningful contribution, the Municipality of Prizren officially named the area “Public Park with the Support of Maarif School.”

Among the participants in this activity were the Deputy Mayor of Prizren, Mr. Bexhat Bytyçi; the Director of Public Services, Mr. Islam Ukimeri; the Consul of the Republic of Türkiye in Prizren, His Excellency Mr. Fatih Topçu; the Turkish Maarif Foundation Kosovo Country Representative, Mr. Mehmet Nedim Asllan; as well as representatives of local institutions, environmental organizations, KRM “Ekoregjioni,” volunteers, and numerous citizens.

A special contribution to this activity was also made by the sister school from Istanbul, Yaşar Dedeman Imam Hatip High School, which planted a sapling symbolically as a sign of the strong partnership and brotherly ties between the two institutions.

This initiative stands as a meaningful example of inter-institutional cooperation and a shared commitment to environmental protection. At the same time, it serves as an important step in raising awareness among younger generations about the importance of preserving nature and maintaining public spaces for a sustainable future.
